[RWP] Hardware midi Sequencer

I realize this is a funny place to be asking about another midi 
sequencer, when we have Reaper, but sometimes I'm away from any computer 
and I'd like to play a small keyboard and make some midi files,
and I don't have a laptop computer.
Back in the day I used an Alesis MMT-8 with very good  access, but I 
found the MMT8 always broke down after a while..
I'm wondering if there's a sturdy, small hardware sequencer out there, 
by Roland, Korg, Yamaha,  that someone here once used and found 
accessible and reliable.
