Another thing you can do, is turn the screen reader support off with 
control+shift+f12, so you don't hear all the chatter.  This will help to 
preserve your sanity.  Start playing the project.  Then, you can use page up 
and page down to jump through the file by measure, hearing the audio as you 
go.
When you get to a place you want to stop, press control+space.  Then, you 
can use the arrow keys to fine-tune your position.
I thought that zooming should affect how much you move with the arrow keys, 
but it doesn't seem to do that.
There has to be a way to increase the scrub rate.  I see ratios mentioned in 
that context, but they don't seem to have the affect I expected.  Therefore, 
I clearly expected incorrectly.  Imagine that.
