[RWP] Options Preferences

When I only click okay after making changes in Options/Preferences, then return later I find the changes I've made still there.

When you make changes to options, preferences, Are those changes saved when you click OK?  Or do you have to export that configuration.  
I'm a little confused over project templates, versus general preferences, when and where it all gets saved.  
I have the impression that some of my changes may not be sticking.
