[RWP] Interesting problem recording with Reaper

I think I have one of those Realtec cards in my windows 7 machine as well.
I hate jack sensing. Very annoying.
when I first got this computer, I didn't realize it was set up for 5.1
sound. I just plugged a stereo pair into one of the outputs, hoping to hear
jaws speech, and couldn't figure out why It would not speak.
come to find out, it refused to send audio out that pair because I didn't
have the other pair plugged in.
Sorry, I'm from the old school. If I tell you to send a signal out that
port, then that's what I want you to do, no matter whether I have anything
plugged into it or not.
