Yes, I totally agree, Bryan!
Making your own keymap could also solve some problems on the mac, it was actually the first thing I did when I bought Reaper, four years ago.
I have a Macbook Pro, but will remain using a pc for my studio, because my plugins just don't work with Voiceover.
I'm really happy with the DDP export in Reaper 4
, by the way!!

We could import most of the Windows keymap, or assign our own hotkeys to gain additional functionality. Reaper's theming system makes it possible to design custom versions of the track control panel and other windows, with custom sets of widgets, at custom locations. Using a theme, for example, we could layout the track strip controls in a single horizontal line. Navigating the track control panel would be similar to navigating the track pane in Sonar, then. If VoiceOver is on the volume control of track 1, for example, you could just navigate down, and you'd be on the volume control for track 2.

Pro Tools, GarageBand, etc all use groups to gather controls for a track. Makes a lot more sense to see a track 1 group, track 2 group, etc, interact with that group, and only see the controls for that single track.

I don't know about the feedback issue, since I really haven't done much more than give it a cursory look, but I think that the idea of scripting has to be expanded in general for VO to truly become as robust a solution as it needs to be.
