[RWP] laptops for a daw

Hi Roy,
No recent experience with Acer, though for what it's worth my
experience of 3-4 years ago was no better nor worse than anything else
off the shelf. IE, do a reinstall, slim down the OS, a few tweaks for
performance and off you go. The chipsets that they used back then were
pretty much all Intel, I didn't run into any unexpected conflicts or
odd behaviour.
That said, I maintain that Windows running natively on Apple hardware
is the sweet spot for me personally. It keeps the maximum amount of
options DAW-wise at your finger tips in this ever-changing field of
accessibility, the hardware is built to last, the chipsets are decent,
you can tweak and customise the spec to suit, and using an app like
Winclone means you'll always have an easy accessible way to reinstall
once Windows starts to bloat.
Just a thought...
