Hi Derek,
Forgive me, I think I must be missing the point of what you're saying somehow.
So, shift+tab will get you into the virtual mode for the master track.
You can't change the audio I/O from there yet due to an API
limitation, and the same is true for virtual mode on all other tracks.
Ctrl+Shift+P will edit plugin parameters of the master track, but
Shift+P will bring up the same functionality for standard tracks.
I'm totally with you that we still need a way of switching the I/O for
the master track, and that in an ideal world it would show up in the
track list, but I'm not following the trouble you have with the
current wording.
