[RWP] auto trim items, keeping timeline in tact

Hello:

Just wondering if there's a way to do the following:

Let's say you're recording a bunch of tracks simultaneously. Not all 
tracks will have stuff going on all the time. To keep the project size 
down, is there a way to automatically mark off items based on threshold, 
get rid of data that has nothing critical, but keep the individual track 
timelines in tact?
