[RWP] Item Pasting

  Hi all,

A few nights back I recorded quite a long segment (4 hours or so) of
audio in SoundForge. I imported the extremely large wave file onto a
track in Reaper, and went through it, editing out the parts I didn't
want and splitting certain parts as separate items on the track.

When I had completed my editing, I was left with a file that was just
over 2 hours, instead of 4, and a track in Reaper with 32 items on it.
I went through the track, applying fades to each item as required.

What I now wish to do is somewhat mix these items; I have the fade-ins
and fade-outs set, but because each bit of audio is a separate item,
naturally, one item ends with a fade out, and another begins with a fade
in. What I want is to either nudge, or cut and paste, the items around
on the track so that they overlap each other. However, Reaper seems to
do mixing, or crossfading of its own whenever you paste an item onto a
track. As I've already set the fades for each item, I obviously don't
want Reaper to mix them for me.

Is there any way of disabling this functionality? If not, is there any
other way of simply overlapping items on a track? Item 1, for example,
has a 5 second fade out, and Item 2 has a 5 second fade in. I wish to
simply paste item 2 5 seconds before the end of Item 1 and let the fades
do their thing and let the audio overlap nicely.

Thanks,
