[RWP] Tapestop kvr audio plugin not working with Reaper

While I can edit the parameters of the tape stop plugin with shift P, it doesn't seem to have any affect on the items where I want the plugin to run. IS there a button I have to press to make the plugin be enabled or disabled? Every time I hit the space to play the item, which I thought would produce the affect, nothing happens.
What am I doing?
