Brand-new to Reaper and R.A., getting used to how things work, but I'm
having a very very basic basic problem.
Firstly, I can't believe how easy it is to record an audio track! I
haven't yet figured out the ins and outs of positioning myself along
the track, but I'll work that out soon enough.
And now, here's my problem ...
I can't believe how *HARD* I'm finding it to record the simplest of
MIDI tracks. I have a Fasttrack Pro interface, I can select it for in
and out just fine, but whereas in Sonar I've got choices for channels
for both IN and OUT, not so in Reaper, and I'm not even sure about the
single choice I do have--is it input or output? Anyway, I set things
up for as much about MIDI as I can figure out, set for MIDI replace
(versus overdub), go into record, play something, stop, and bingo,
Reaper wants to save an audio file which has nothing in it, because
when I play it back, I hear nothing. I know my MIDI implementation is
working because it's fine in Sonar. What am I doing wrong, please?
Thanks in advance.
