[RWP] Beginner Reaper questions

Hi again,
As for the silent recording issue, I'm actually surprised this hasn't come
up before. I, for one, like to punch in and out manually when recording. The
announcements of "Record" and "Play" make instant punching in and out
impossible, without switching to Eloquence and hooking that up so it doesn't
get recorded by the professional sound card. If I get my TranzPort working,
will using its controls eliminate the announcements?
Speaking of the TranzPort, I added it, and it does show up in the Control
Surfaces area of Preferences. I even went in and enabled its MIDI ports,
figuring that was the problem. Still no go. Nothing I do on the TranzPort
seems to have any effect at all. The TranzPort is working in APH Studio
Recorder, so it's not the problem. On a similar subject, anyone know of a
source for the TranzPort in the US? I assume it has been discontinued, since
places that used to sell it no longer do. I've had a TranzPort destroyed by
lightning, and I'd like to replace it.
Okay, here's something so simple it's totally stupid that I haven't figured
it out. How the heck do you select the track you're sitting on now? I know
how to shift+up/down and move, selecting tracks as you go. But how do you
select the track you're sitting on right now? I used to use Sonar with Cake
Talking years ago on an older computer, and there, you just hit Enter to
select the current track, assuming you weren't on a mute/solo/arm field.
Thanks again for any help!
Jayson
