[RWP] the reaperian story

Alex: in an ideal world and even in some areas of this one I'm right
behind you with that view, but when it comes to DAWs it's not like we
have many options. I've struggled to achieve the same work rate and
efficiency that I could get using Pro Tools back in the day for too
long now, and a continually developing Reaper and ReaAccess combo
would bring me ever closer to being comfortable with my work rate
again. Even when Digi release 8.0.4, I'm not convinced that VoiceOver
has the navigational flexibility to answer everyone's needs, and
considering the price and portability of Reaper I'll still have a huge
soft spot for it even if I end up heading back to Tools exclusively.
Plus aside from all that boring productivity stuff, it makes such a
change for us to have access to something trendy while it's still
trendy, that I'll happily break my own rules and do some chasing to
maintain that. It's not often we get to be one of the cool kids in DAW
terms.
