The "MIDI Editor" message is just the name of the command; it doesn't 
actually indicate that you entered the MIDI Editor. In order to enter 
the editor, you must have a MIDI item selected. I think you can do this 
using ctrl+left/right arrows, though you may have ot select a time 
range. I haven't quite figured out what ctrl+left/right are supposed to 
do; the command mentions transients, but i can't find any documentation 
on what a transient is, nor whether it actually selects the item. :)
