An alternative is to get single hit drum libraries  and use  them in
the reaper sampler to build your drum tracks similiarly to th  way u
would in any of those drummer programs. if you get a drum library with
enough vearients like volicity and mic placements positions you should
be able to work around the lack of ez drummer or something like that
fairly easily. www.drumwerks.com is a good place for inexpensive
libraries and their sister site www.betamonkeymusic.com  while having
more loops  has a single hit library or two  and all their loop
libraries comes with a folder of the single hits from the loops
recording sessions. and there are other companies out there  as well
like discrete drums groove monkee bandmate loops and producer loops to
name a few.
