[RWP] Introduction and question

Some tutorials on that would be great.

As far as technically minded. I'm currently doing a PhD in computer science, so I actually find that I'm too often too technically
minded and want to program my music, but not in the cSound sort of way, when I interact with a DAW.

I completely admit that my inexperience and lack of knowledge on this subject could falsely color my impression of reaper versus
sonar, but I will say that I found things like the virtual keyboard working out of the box to be so cool, whereas that doesn't work
in sonar at all.

Again, I look forward to some basic tutorials on workflow. What's the quickest way to lay down a kick on every quarter note and
repeat that for 25 measures, let's say? I'd like to then go back and double up on some measures and throw in some claps on the
eighths, and so on.

Alternatively, let's say I got a midi file loaded up, I'd like to explore it in a logical way, but not too granular such that I'm
looking at control data in addition to note data.

Take care,
Sina

I agree with clerance on this one and I personally used JSonar, Yeah i think the last 2 months or so jSonar went through a bit of
a buggy spell and if you aren't the most technically minded i can see how that would of put someone off. However one of the things
that draw me to reaper is the lightweight ness of it even so its not too far off feature wise from sonar. However as i do often
feel like the one blind musician that doesn't play keyborads and thus don't use midi I can't really be of much help with the midi
stuff. Personally for beats i use audio drum loops or single hits and arrange them like you would edit any other audio file in a
DAW.
