[RWP] Introduction and question

Hi all,

My name is Sina Bahram, and I've recently gotten  into Reaper.

I've downloaded and installed the latest Reaper and Reaaccess.

I've been playing  around with Reaper and have truly been impressed compared to the basic level of access found in something like
sonar.

I have some questions though.


I want to start doing some simple things in Reaper to learn my way around.

Are there any tutorials on how to just lay down a beat, let's say? Some kicks, highhats, and maybe a short baseline?

I just want to learn the work flow and how things go together.

I found the virtual keyboard to be useable, when one isn't front of a midi one, that is, but is there a step sequencer or something
that will actually allow me to enter in midi onto the track?

Also, I can never open a track. Whenever I hit enter on it, it says the track can't be opened. Not sure what's up with that?

I'm also a bit unclear as to the necessary routing just to make midi issue forth some sound. In sonar, each track had an output
attribute, but here all I see is midi output.

Anyways, maybe an FAQ or beginners  guide or some other resource would be great, if there is one?
