[RWP] setting up midi controller

Hi guys, I just got reaper and love it.  The problem is I just got A Novation nocturn midi keyboard controller and I can't find how to get sound out of it.  I'm new at this sort of thing and would b glad of any assistance.  Also, I want ot know how to install vst instruments when I can find them and also where can I find some free vst plug ins.  The adobe thing is not working well for some reason and as I said, I'm really anxious to really dig in.  Any help would be useful.  thanks
