[RWP] Setting track outputs

Hi,
I only recently bothered to map an applications key on my Apple
keyboard, so am discovering all the fun things in Reaper context menus.
Let's just say, for the sake of argument, that I have a 4 in, 4 out
interface that supports ASIO.
I want to set the input of a track to input 1/2, a stereo pair. I can
do that in the Track Input sub menu when I press applications on a
track. I then want to send the output to outputs 3/4, another stereo
pair, after processing (gate, compression, etc). This output would then
be sent to a channel on a mixer.
At the moment, I'm not working with this setup (I don't actually have
any cards that support ASIO). So, how would I go about doing what I've
stated above if I did have the 4 in, 4 out ASIO card?
I'm guessing I would have to set the option in the context menu to
monitor the track input, then arm the track, then some how, set the
output? Which option in the context menu, if any, sets the output of a
track?
Thanks in advance, and I'll admit that I haven't read the Reaper manual,
yet, due to the fact that I can't really use the program to its full
potential at the moment.
