face="Times New Roman">Since I wrote and responded to Kate’s questions, I did a
little experimenting. <SPAN style="mso-spacerun: yes"> </SPAN>I wanted to
see how long it would take me to deliver a critique. When I simply allowed the
computer to read my notes, I could just about get under the time allotment, but
when I listened to my notes and paraphrased from them, it took way too
long.<SPAN style="mso-spacerun: yes"> </SPAN>So that leads me to 2
conclusions. </FONT></P>

face="Times New Roman">One is that we should run through our presentations to
see just how long they are going to take and try to pare them down, shooting for
4 minutes. </FONT></P>

face="Times New Roman"> </FONT></o:p></P>
<P style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt" class=MsoNormal><FONT size=3><FONT
face="Times New Roman">The second conclusion is that sending one’s notes is not
as redundant as I thought. I think they may be much more complete than the
verbal presentation. So I highly recommend that everyone send their written
critiques to the authors.<SPAN style="mso-spacerun: yes"> </SPAN>You can
either send them to their individual addresses or to all the members of your
group.<SPAN style="mso-spacerun: yes"> </SPAN>We can learn from each other
how to do a critique and thereby how to write better via the critical eyes of
our fellow writers.<SPAN style="mso-spacerun: yes">
