<p>I did briefly host the archive after taking it over from Jayson. I ran it on my own machine at home. We had Cox business at the time. That machine crashed and we're on residential now, so I can't host it and I lost my copy. The copy I got was from Jayson. I did upload a .7z of what I had at one time, but it's long gone too.</p>

<p>Jayson manages and hosts the list on his server. He was using Gentoo eons ago, but I don't know his setup now. There isn't a control panel that I'm aware of though. I have some Debian and Ubuntu servers hosted in various places. My main server is in Germany for cost reasons. It's a dedicated server.</p>

<p>Samba isn't an ftp package. I used pure-ftpd and Apache. If you're looking for server advice, write to me privately. It sounds like you have a lot of questions not on topic for this list. I have no idea who is hosting the archive now. You can write to <a href="mailto:bats@batsupport.com">bats@batsupport.com</a> which is my business email. BATS stands for Baechler Access Technology Services. I'm not surprised you couldn't get a Windows VPS to work. We specialize in Linux support services. We might be able to give you a better deal on your VPS. We're working on WordPress support and have WordPress experience. Remember that a fair bit of the content of the archive isn't legal and probably shouldn't be advertised to the public.</p>
