[:nb] A Godless Christmas, by Blake Roberts. [:np] Twas the night before Christmas, and I heard not a sound. I laid awake that night Listening to the hound. The frogs croaked loudly. The crickets were shrill. A truck went by and I heard a wolf on the hill. All of a sudden my room filled with light. I trembled and quaked shaking with fright. Then, in the darkness, a voice quietly spoke. When I heard what it said, my heart nearly broke. [:nf] [:ra 180 [:dv as 70 br 0] "My child, fear not. Please do not be bored. Listen to what I say for I am the Lord." "Tonight, people party and wrap prehzents galore. They look at the gifts they have brought or go out and buy more." "Yet, amid all this excitement, happiness and cheer, they forget the part of Christmas that is most dear." "They forget, in their ignorance, the reason I came. This saddens me greatly And causes me pain." "For I, Jhiyzahs Jeezus krighst, am the real reason why people celebrate during this holiday season." "I came as Gods gift to save people from sin. I will gladly enter Anyone who will let me in!" "But I am shut out of the hearts of many. People would rather party or spend their last penny." "My message to you, my child, is clear and true. Tell the world That I love them and you." "Tell them, dear one, the reason I was born. Tell them also, why I wore the crown of thorns." "If you do this, you will bring joy to my heart. Ignoring my message Will drift us apart." "Will you spread my message?" [:np] Crighst questioned me. [:dv] [:dv as 85] "Yes, Lord!" [:dv] I exclaimed joyfully. [:nf] [:ra 180 [:dv as 100 br 0] "Well done, good and faithful servant!" [:np] the Lord said with a smile. [:nf] [:ra 180 [:dv as 70 br 0] "I must be going now, but it was nice to visit a while." [:np] As he was speaking, He drifted up towards the sun. I knew in an instant That his visit was done. But I heard him exclaim, As he drifted towards his heavenly throne, [:nf] [:ra 180 [:dv as 80 br 0] "Spread my message my child, and remember, you are never alone!"
