size=2>Hi,
As I understand it, the demo programs are produced so that
potential clients
can evaluate DECtalk to see if it meets their needs, from
a quality of
speech etc. prospective. I assume that a full version
would maybe be a
Speak window but also contain libraries and other files so
that DECtalk
could be interfaced directly with other programs. The
demo, at least
version 4.3, will read a file up to about 60K in size.
Also, version 4.3
lets you convert the text into a wav file which is very
nice! Version 4.6.1
or is it 4.61 won't let you do that, and I happen
to have a copy of the
4.6.4 demo and it also won't convert to
wav.
Jayson.

----- Original Message -----
From:

MARK

>
> Thanks so much! My colleague Corine is now
on this list and so I thought
it
> was a good question to
ask. I just have my communication device, plus
I've
>
never heard or seen a Dectalk Express, so that was a treat for
me.
>
> Say, my friend Dave reminded me that the Dectalk on
my CD is just a demo.
> What is a full software version
like? All I ever get for my work is the
demo
> speak
windows. To me, they are like a full version because they
never
expire
> and they read any size file. So I forget
that they are demos. So what
does
> a full version do that the
demo won't?
>
> I probably could get a full version but I
really have no need for one.
I'm
> just curious as to what it
is and why you would need it when the demo
does it
>
all?
>
>
> SNOOPI
>
>
>
> In a
