I want to add one more thing to Carlos's list.
3. TrueVoice is a SAPI4 speech engine, so the programs it can work with are
limited. Some TTS programs support both SAPI 4 and 5, i.e. TextAloud, but
other programs only work with Sapi 5 voices.

Two things.
1. The link where these can be downloaded (one of many) is
http://dimio.altervista.org/eng/
(download each language individually)
2. The voices are so low-quality that there is really no point in using
most of them. Sure, they're worth playing around with, but they don't
have anything interesting like phonemes or singing and they are rather
low quality.
