Surely there must be a reason why they are called jingles, every term 
has its etymology.
I'm a Jazz enthusiast and although I am not technically a part of the 
generation involving the older time frame, I do appreciate it more than 
the current time frame. Check me out at

I did send you guys a YouTube video where a guitarist was playing and 
the person hidden behind the curtain would mouth the words.
