That's very interesting, even though I don't use Window Eyes.

Subject: [DECtalk] DECtalk Interesting find about the version of DT Access
32 shipping with Window-Eyes

Hi all,

I was listening to an old Main menu from 2003, and they had Window-Eyes
4.5 what's new, Doug was on and they were talking about shipping DT
Access32 with that version upwards. Here's the link to the playlist file:
http://www.acbradio.org/archives/mainmenu/mm134.m3u

For those who don't wanna listen/just want to know what happened, Fonix was
helping GW Micro get the 4.61 version of DT (you know, the froggy
one?) to sound better and fix some errors and so on. Their fixes made DT
sound classic again, or as classic as the Access32 was. Jonathan Mosen
remarked in that section at 19:20 or so, "Ok, because DECTalk ain't what it
used to be. Some of the newer iterations of the software sound
quite...Strange." To which Doug laughed and agreed, then going on to state
that Fonix was incorporating GW's fixes to DECTalk and would be labeling
this version as 4.62. It's just 4.61 with GW's fixes in it.

I wasn't even looking for DECTalk history, either! <grin> DECTalk is
everywhere it seems in the blind world, and even outside it.

I'll never view Access32 the same. Thanks GW!

Alex
