Strange, I never noticed this with window eyes, but when I pressed keys too
quickly with window eyes and dec express, the pc restarted (a windows stop
error was encountered).
I am pretty sure its not the unit I have not noticed this in jaws for dos or
vocal eyes under windows or plain dos.
Are you using a usb to serial converter or a standard serial port?
Did you uncheck "use fido buffers" under the port settings/advanced settings
in the ports settings under device manager in windows?
This may or may not help.

Hi,
I'm just guessing, but I think that's a problem with that unit and that
firmware. I've noticed this same problem consistently with Window-Eyes
and Speakup on Linux. It's especially bad in Window-Eyes, leading me to
think it has something to do with how Windows sends data to the serial
ports. I also notice this sometimes in Vocal-Eyes for DOS when running
under Windows. With Speakup, I think it's a bug in Speakup itself but
I'm not sure. If there is a way around this, I would like to know about
it. I've set the serial port parameters exactly as suggested in the
Window-Eyes manual but with no luck. I don't think software speech does
that and I've never had that with my old Doubletalk LT or Trippletalk USB.
