Hello,

I'm sorry to have to report this, but I have temporarily turned off the
web server which provides access to the DECtalk archive. Recently, the
bandwidth load on our DSL connection caused by the DECtalk archive has been
more than we are willing to deal with. I have reason to believe that a
person or persons are using automated methods to retrieve files from the
archive, on a somewhat continuous basis. Unfortunately, for reasons
currently unknown to me, the bandwidth limiting software I had previously
installed has stopped working. I will ask around on some other lists. If I
can get bandwidth limiting back in force, I will be more than happy to
resume serving the archive files. Sometime soon, in the absence of bandwidth
management, I will delete the DECtalk archive from the web server in a
temporary manner, and put up a page explaining why it has become
unavailable. If anybody is willing to host the archive as a primary host,
please contact me, and we can arrange something.
Thank you for your understanding.
Jayson
